What’s new this October — classes, hikes & mindful movement.

Hi,

It has been a long time since my last update. I hope you’re all well. In the meantime, I’ve been away exploring the Cornish coast and forests — and I turned 40! So I took a small break from everything to reflect and think about the direction of things. Let’s get into it.

New Classes Starting in October

Soon it’ll be rainy and much darker when we wake up or come back from work, which makes exercising and movement practice even harder. That’s why I’ve decided to start a Flexibility & Strength class every Sunday at 10am, beginning on 12th October.

What to expect:

  • 1h class focusing on mobility, flexibility, and strength

  • Beginner friendly

  • Mix of bodyweight and weighted exercises with a good dose of movement exploration (adapted to all abilities)

  • Movement games in the warm-up and some breathwork to calm down the body at the end

When: Starts Sunday 12th October, 10am at Barefoot Clinic, Exeter

Cost: £15 drop-in / £48 for a pack of 4 classes

Buddy pass: 2 for £25 (first drop-in)

Booking: Drop me an email and I will get in touch with you.

Spaces limited — max 6 people.

Next Hike: The Bowerman’s Nose

In October we’ll be exploring Manaton, Bowerman’s Nose and Hound Tor. This walk will be a little longer than usual — around 3 hours.

You can preview the route here:

We’ve been lucky with the weather so far, but rainy season is coming — so bring warm and waterproof layers.

New | The Adventure Series

Joe and I are getting ready for some big, steep, and long hikes next year. So once a month we’ll be doing one longer, more challenging hike (3–5 hours / 15–30 km+) on a Saturday morning, finishing by midday.

This is a chance to push your limits a little if you’re a more experienced hiker and enjoy longer outings in mixed weather and terrain.

Here’s an example of what we did in September so you know the vibe.

Let's move mindfully

This is the first of four videos we’ll be sharing on social media, focused on mindful movement — moving slowly, noticing how your body feels, and focusing on relaxing and down-regulating. Think slow inhales, slow exhales, and taking time to look after your physical and mental health.

It’s a small guided practice (10–15 minutes) to help you unwind after a long day or week at work, or just to move more in a gentle, mindful way. It’s not a workout — it’s a practice.

This is part 1. The rest will be shared on social media and my website over the coming weeks.

Have a great week!
Stay strong and keep moving.
